Working from home doesn’t provide many opportunities for social activity. So when I read that our parent company was having their National Sales meetings last week in Orlando, I jumped at the opportunity to bond with my co-workers. After going through the marketing department, and cutting through some red tape, I was cleared to attend the cocktail event. I was also excited to hear that my old boss and good friend was attending. The problem, however, was that I haven’t had the need to wear a dress in who-knows-how-long, and I had one day to procure one—a fancy, cocktail-ish one.

I don’t know how it happened, but I ended up with the first dress I tried on at the first (and only) store I went to. What kind of karma is that? (I’m wondering which of my two kids I’m going to have to give up in the near future.) I even scored some hot shoes. They’re not Manolo Blahnik, but they still look good!

    • blushing profusely Thanks Fragileheart!

I bought the shoes at Marshall’s. I’m embarrassed to say they are Jessica Simpson brand. I really can’t stand her, but I do love those shoes. 😛
