I agree...I generally try to keep my posts on the lighter side. This election year, however, I'm feeling the need to express my thoughts. Even if people don't agree with me, maybe they'll be provoked into action. Vote, at the very least! :)

Aren't you glad you are in Portugal?

Well, I guess I agree with you on the "right to choose" thing. But if we have "the right" to end a life, why should be be denied the right to a means to "save" our own? I adhere to the "unalienable right" to bear arms, and will, until the day someone shoots me! Tee-hee.

As for the comments by "my son", "Duh, someday I are gonna be as smart as my kids!" You go Matt! I have seen, and read, and heard, less intelligent statements from people who are paid millions to give us those very statements! Kudos! Why the hell are you working at an elextronics store again? Why the hell aren't you out there somewhere telling us all of these things? Oh wait, I guess you just did! Again, well done.

I think there are some very important things that Matt Damon leaves out. We know the truth about the dinosaurs, it's a false accusation, pulled off of a blog ironically... She did not impose a ban on books, she threatened to, and even informed a librarian that she (the librarian) was going to be fired... The polars Bears and Beluga whales issue is bad, her view that Global Warming is "not man made or affected..." is extremely disheartening! If you watch the interviewd with Charles Gibson, she stumbles on things like the Bush Doctrine (should not necessarily be known to the averagee Joe, should be known by a person on the doorstep of the most influential position in the country, perhaps the world...

"Out of the National Security Stategy, four main points are highlighted as the core to the Bush Doctrine: Preemption, Military Primacy, New Multilateralism, and the Spread of Democracy.[15] The document emphasized pre-emption by stating: "America is now threatened less by conquering states than we are by failing ones. We are menaced less by fleets and armies than by catastrophic technologies in the hands of the embittered few." and required "defending the United States, the American people, and our interests at home and abroad by identifying and destroying the threat before it reaches our borders."[16]" - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bush_Doctrine

Those are far more interesting, her position as a reformer, when she as Governor of Alaska requested more per capita Earmark spending than any other state in the country! Why do they continuosly use the Bridge to Nowhere ploy when it has already been debunked! It is openly known that she supported the Bridge to Nowhere before it got laughed out of the White House... We need these candidates to focus on the issues and truth, as opposed to this constant rehash of the speech from "Citizen Kane", all sorts of promises they'd tell us, "if they weren't to busy arranging to keep them..."

Sarah Palin's gender isn't the impacter, John McCains tme in the torture isn't the impacter, Barack Obama's ethnicity isn't going to be the impacter... We are the impacter, I have never seen more commercials launched by the people than I have this year! That is what makes Sarah Palin so great... she got everyones focus off of the issues. I listened to both speeches, I am registered INDEPENDENT, and I am not saying that I heard a FULL PLAN from Barack Obama, but I heard something resembling a plan. I don't expect someone to address every problem in the country I heard McCain talk about how he was going to directly defy votes cast by the PEOPLE against drilling, McCain is going to clean up the mess his party has been largely making, through scandals, earmark spending, and abuse of power. I agree, that should be done, and maybe John McCain should be amosngst the group that does that reforming, but not from the seat of the President! I would rather see John McCain lose an election, than see me lose my country! I am happy to debate this with all, but bring me something real, I have seen the rhetoric already, I don't want to see anymore. I can also offer clips from Baracks speech, or you can go to http://www.barackobama.com/issues/ to read the plan that everyone claims he doesn't have!

One of the more deplorable of the McCain policies on his sloutions site is as several analysts say that it isn't even possible, and tragic if it happens...:
"GOVERNMENT SPENDING: John McCain Proposes A One-Year Spending Pause To Evaluate Programs. He believes that outside of essential military and veterans programs there should be a one-year discretionary spending pause that should be used for a top-to-bottom review of the effectiveness of federal programs."
