The Cat Diary

Day 983 of my captivity.

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.

They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a ‘good little hunter’ I am. Bastards.

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices last night. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of ‘allergies.’ I must learn what this means and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow — but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.

The bird has got to be an informant.. I observe him communicating with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now……………..

This week’s random plurks

Plurk Creature

I have to admit, I’m stealing using an idea I found on the blog of someone requesting a 10 things review. I found the idea of my week in tweets an intriguing one so I’ve gone back through my week of plurks, and picked some gems for you. :)

Neglect

I have not been a very good blogger lately. While I’ve managed to scrape by with some posts here (just barely, though), 10 things I hate about your site has been withering on the vine. I haven’t posted there in over a *gasp* month, and I’m seriously struggling with design issues.

I’ve spent the better half of the last month trying to design my own WordPress theme. What a nightmare, and I’m an effing designer!! So, now I’m spending my evening trying to find a new theme. Believe it or not, I’m very picky discerning. Finding the right theme for 10 things is not an easy task. I need widgets, and ad space, and a place for my favorite banner image of all time (which I may have to let go :( ), and lots of other stuff. So here I am, trolling the internet.

Of course I’m looking for a free theme. Yeah, good luck with that!

This post has been generously brought to you by appetite suppressants. Which I am in serious need of if I’m going to look hot for my anniversary in Vegas!!!

Wednesday’s Words: It’s Earth Day!

Today, Wednesday’s words are all about Mother Earth. :)

The world is finite, resources are scarce,
Things are bad and will be worse,
Coal is burned and gas exploded,
Forests out and soil eroded,
Wells are dry and air polluted,
Dust is blowing, trees uprooted,
Oil is going, ores depleted,
Drains receive what is excreted,
Land is sinking, seas are rising,
Man is far too enterprising,
Fires will rage with man to fan it,
Soon we will have a plundered planet.

Random Tuesday Thoughts: the Entertainment Version

randomtuesday

Alas, dear readers. It has been too long. I apologize for the absence. Life, believe it or not, takes precedence over blogging. ;)

But it’s a nice Tuesday evening. The boys are in bed. Chris is off playing poker (and hopefully winning–baby needs a new pair of shoes!). So I’m taking a little time for some Random Tuesday Thoughts!

This is not a 10 things review

I know this post is better suited for the blog-that-shall-remain-nameless, however, for various reasons I am posting my review of Saint Joseph’s University PMP exam preparation site here at the Web-Betty Blog. If you’re interested in a Project Management Curriculum, check them out! If you’re interested in my review of their site, not 10 things style, read on:

Wednesday’s Words: The Moon is a Cookie

I know, there are a lot of bloggers out there who do a “Wordless Wednesday” post. Call me a rebel. I’m reversing the trend and going with “Wednesday’s Words.” :P

Today’s words were penned by none other than The Goose (aka, Zachary). We were all sitting at dinner some time back, talking about stories and the writing he was doing in school when out of the blue, he makes up this poem, The Moon is a Cookie.

Enjoy!

Mini-vacation

I’m writing this post after just getting back from West Palm Beach, and our nice little mini-vacation. It’s always so nice to get away from central Florida and go more coastal (not postal ;) ). We love the beach but just don’t manage to get there as often as I would like. It can be tedious lugging 2 kids, 4 beach chairs, a treasure chest of beach toys, towels, sunscreen, a cooler, (etc., etc., etc.) 45 minutes to Daytona. What makes our trips to West Palm Beach so great is that 1) we stay for the weekend so the “lugging” doesn’t seem that bad, and 2) we’re staying literally right on the beach. What’s not awesome about that?
